Terms and Conditions (Updated July 2025)
Terms and Conditions of Service Effective 1st July 2025. Golden Hill Gardening Services (hereafter referred to as “GHGS”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is a one-person entity that provides garden maintenance services (collectively known as the “services”). These services are offered at goldenhillgardening.co.uk where Clients can analyse, enquire and/or request services.
1.0 Terms and Conditions – General
1.1 An initial visit and assessment of works will take place to all gardens prior to using GHGS services to discuss requirements.
1.2 Garden Design and gardening advice given by GHGS is chargeable at the hourly rate agreed with the Client
1.3 GHGS cannot be held liable for plants not thriving or dying following our work and advice.
1.4 GHGS cannot be held liable for damage caused to Client’s own equipment if used by GHGS with the permission of the Client.
1.5 GHGS will ensure that appropriate insurance is maintained, including Public Liability cover. The insurance only covers GHGS, for the duration of the selected service and only for the services agreed.
1.6 GHGS prices are for services only and do not include the cost of plants or any other garden materials.
1.7 The Client agrees to provide keys or arrange access to the garden for the agreed service and appointment; failure to do so will result in the cancellation of that day’s service and will be paid for in full by the Client. GHGS will ensure that all keys provided are kept secure and will not be stored identifying address details. The Client should advise on the use of burglar alarms or any other security devices. The Client must advise GHGS of any pets within the house and ensure that those that are not allowed outside (e.g. cats) are kept away from access doors.
1.8 GHGS will use access to the garden via side entrances or external gates to move tools, equipment and other gardening material; if the only access to the garden is via the Client’s house, GHGS will take reasonable care not to cause any damage, however GHGS are not liable for any damage caused to the Client’s property.
1.9 The Client will provide GHGS with access to electricity and water as agreed with the client.
1.10 GHGS will place any green waste produced from gardening activities into a location agreed with the client such as a compost heap or council green bin. The Client is responsible for removing any green waste if these locations if these are not available. GHGS will not remove green waste from the garden.
1.11 The Client consents to their garden being photographed and videoed and to photos or videos being used in any media or marketing by GHGS. All such media will remain the property of GHGS.
2.0 Bookings
2.1 Bookings can be made by telephone, email or via our website and will be confirmed by email or text (subject to availability).
2.2 The minimum booking is for 2 hours.
2.3 GHGS reserve the right to amend or cancel a booking in the event of unforeseen circumstances including adverse weather conditions. GHGS will endeavour to offer an alternative time subject to availability.
3.0 Payments
3.1 GHGS prices are provided to the Client on request. Please be aware that our rates are competitive for the services provided and are not negotiable.
3.2 GHGS accepts payment by bank transfer (in preference) or cash on the day.
3.3 GHGS reserves the right to suspend all services until payment has been made in full.
3.4 GHGS reserves the right the request a non-refundable deposit for services booked.
4.0 Cancellations
4.1 For individual services (e.g. specific days) booked, the Client may cancel the service 48 hours prior to the day of the service and the service will not be charged for, or a refund will be provided if already paid for or can be rolled forward to a future booking.
4.2 If the required notice is not given, GHGS reserves the right to charge in full for the cancelled services.
4.3 GHGS understands that there are unexpected circumstances that cannot be anticipated and interfere with the notice periods set out in these Terms and Conditions. Please contact GHGS as soon as possible should such circumstances arise.
4.4 GHGS reserves the right to cancel any service on short notice in the event of, but not limited to, illness, accidents, extreme weather (e.g. heavy snow) and other unforeseen circumstances. In such an event, GHGS will provide as much notice to the Client as possible and services will not be charged for.
